I’m certainly not the brightest bulb in the box, and I never claim to be.
- When other people are looking for advice or opinions on a topic, I’m the first to shrug my shoulders and tell them I’m unqualified to offer any assistance.
I don’t ever want people to get the idea that they should listen to the information in my brain. This is one of the largest reasons why I really didn’t think anything of it when my partner kept telling me I had horrible allergies. I assumed that she was correct after watching me cough, sneeze, and rub my face for a few months on end after the seasons changed. Surely, she knew that the climate and air quality were affecting my respiratory system in a way that I couldn’t doubt. SO I proceeded through the weeks, taking OTC allergy medicine and waiting for my illnesses to clear up. Unfortunately, they never did. I coughed and sneezed my way through the winter season before the warm, balmy spring air finally entered our environment. As soon as we had an air temperature and air quality change, there was a big improvement in my breathing. Unfortunately, when the AC was utilized, the sneezes started again. It took a professional respiratory specialist to tell me what the problem was – not allergies, but the amount of debri floating in my air ducts, air filter, and air quality control equipment. When a local HVAC technician saw my horribly neglected indoor air temperature control system, he was shocked that I was still standing. Now I have clean air ducts, brand new HEPA filters that I change every 6 weeks, and a regular HVAC service plan.
