I was pretty foolish to think that I could install an actual HVAC system.
I had been watching this YouTube channel where the guy was saying that anybody could install a DIY HVAC system. Well, some people like me just aren’t inclined with machinery like that. I actually believed I could do it and I had a DIY ductless mini split sent to my house. I actually just stared at the boxes for the longest time because there were so many of them! I was overwhelmed and finally I got around to looking for the instructions. The instructions to me looked like hieroglyphics. I started by locating the spot I would set the condenser and I got one of those PVC slabs for the base of the condenser. I mean, I could have mounted the condenser unit to the wall, but I thought a slab would be better. I had a hard time just trying to make the ground even to put the slab down on. Eventually my brother came to visit unexpectedly. He asked what I was doing and I told him I was trying to install an HVAC system. He laughed for a little while and then asked me if I was serious. He told me that if I was trying to make a slab for the condenser, I should just pour concrete. He helped me make the concrete slab and we were able to make it the perfect shape and leveled it perfectly. Then he helped me with the upcoming steps, but we had to watch a tutorial to get it all done. Honestly, if it weren’t for my brother showing up, I never would have installed the HVAC, but now it works great!
