The instructions were obvious; if anyone was to call, I told them to call the following day and make up some excuse as to why they could not pick; they were not able to pick up their phone. This had the makings of a terrible day. Two hours passed with no calls. During the third hour, a new number came through. When I passed my message as instructed, the guy told me that he was an HVAC tech from a heating dealership. They had been contacted and were instructed to avail themselves as soon as possible. The phone owner was adamant that they should attend to the HVAC service plan the following day.I told them the technicians were fully booked for three days with various furnace/heater installations. I was told to redirect them to my house if I pleased since the payment had already been made. It may have been a sarcastic comment, but I did exactly that to teach them a lesson. I told the serviceman there was an address change, and they were to do heater maintenance for my electric heating system. The boiler also needed heating repair. When he asked if he could go ahead and also install the wireless thermostat and replace the furnace filter, I told him it was okay. Who knew that such a bad day could lead me to get new heat and AC products. I would have jumped on the opportunity if they had even made a joke about installing heated floors. The heating industry gods must have been smiling at me that day because my heater would be running like a new one after the servicing.
