I hate taking our vehicle to be diagnosed, and it’s one of those responsibilities that I procrastinate with as long as I possibly can because I detest it so much.
- It is such an inconvenience to drive our car, stress out the mechanic, & then drive back.
It doesn’t sound as terrible as it feels, however the worst part about the whole ordeal is talking to the mechanic about what I want done. 99% of the time, I’m taking our vehicle because our check engine light has come on & I need to get the oil looked at or my vehicle will stop running. This last time I took our vehicle was no exception. I’d driven around as long as I could before I thought our vehicle would stop running due to the lack of oil. As I had already expected, the mechanic told me that I should have our air filter updated. I instantly told him no, although she insisted that the air filter needed to be updated, but when I still wouldn’t budge, she took out the air filter & brought it over to me. I was shocked by what I saw! I could no longer see the mesh filter due to the fact that it was covered in thick dust & debris. The dust was definitely black & it was hanging off of the air filter. The mechanic told me that if I wasn’t going to update the air filter, I would have to run the vehicle without one because there was no use putting the old one back in; Once I saw the terrible condition of the air filter though, I agreed to have it updated. It was only a few extra bucks!
