My sister and her new husband decided to host a little dinner party at their house shortly after they got back from their honeymoon last month. It was a good idea, in theory! My sister is a really nice person who always wants to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome in her home. I knew that she would try to have a really nice dinner party for all of us that she invited. I wanted to help her out, but I had to work late that day and so I didn’t get there until it was a few minutes later than when she wanted to start. It was really cold outside that day, and it was also raining. I remember trying to be careful driving because I was afraid that there might be ice! I had my heating on full blast in the car, because it was so cold outside. However when I got to my sister’s house, I walked in the door and realized that she had gone way overboard with the heating inside of her house. As soon as I walked in the door from the front porch, I felt like I was blasted in the face with a flamethrower or something. It was literally like walking into a furnace. I looked around at everyone who was already sitting at her dining room table, and they all had red faces and looked like they were sweating.I glanced at my sister, but she was so nervous about everything else that was going on, I don’t think she even noticed the temperature of the house. I immediately took her to the side and told her that she needed to turn down the thermostat because everyone was roasting!
