I’ve been driving for 30 years, & I had never had an accident, and i had never had any kind of traffic violation, including a parking ticket. What happened the day I had our first accident, I do not know. I knew I had to make a left turn, & even when I turned into the right-hand turn lane, I knew I had to turn left. I also knew I should have looked before I turned left from the right-hand turn lane, although I didn’t. My first automobile accident, our first of any traffic violations, was out of stupidity. I couldn’t even call it an accident, however all I saw was the face of that bad Heating & Air Conditioning specialist behind the wheel of the service van as she hit the front of our car. I pulled our automobile off into a parking lot that was within 10 feet of where she hit me, and the young Heating & Air Conditioning tech pulled in behind me. Two seconds later, the police pulled in front of us. I didn’t give the Heating & Air Conditioning tech a option to talk. I told the police officer I had been distracted, pulled into the right turn lane, & then turned left directly in front of the Heating & Air Conditioning service van. When she asked if our automobile was drivable, I told him yep & let them know I already called our insurance supplier. All I needed to do was get the insurance information from the Heating & Air Conditioning specialist. The cop wrote up a police report & offered us each a copy. Although the Heating & Air Conditioning tech could not have avoided hitting me, she was afraid to call her boss, because it was her first day on the job.
