My dad is the type of father who believes her children should talk when talked to, & never interrupt an adult when talking unless it was a matter of life or death.
I hated the system that we were to be seen however not heard, however it was her belief. Even after I was in middle school, dad stuck with her rule. I was getting ready to graduate middle school & considering a work in Heating & Air Conditioning. I had a lot of information from the local technical school, although I wanted to talk to someone who had been there. When I overheard dad talking to Dad about the Heating & Air Conditioning tech being there the following day, I got excited. I was sure I was going to get to talk to him & get more information. I had so many questions about Heating & Air Conditioning that I couldn’t wait until the Heating & Air Conditioning specialist arrived. The Heating & Air Conditioning specialist arrived just a few seconds before our dad. I got to introduce myself & tell him I was considering a work as an Heating & Air Conditioning tech, however then dad arrived. She ordered myself and others to go into the house. I knew I was already in trouble, so I defied our dad. I continued to ask questions, despite the fact that I saw our dad simmering a short distance away. I don’t know why she changed her mind about punishing me, however when the Heating & Air Conditioning tech left, she asked if Heating & Air Conditioning technical school was something I genuinely wanted, & asked myself and others to get the paperwork for him. She wanted to review the application & make sure I was qualified to apply before she signed the papers & paid the tuition.
