Just 3 days ago when I walked in my front door I immediately knew that there was something wrong with my air conditioner.
I live in the south east, where it is very warm and humid, and right now we are headed into summer.
We are already having thermostat readings in the 90s, and having a problem with your AC is definitely not something you want to happen. Even so, I had a problem. Fortunately for me, I rent the townhouse that I live in, so all repairs are up to the owner. I am also fortunate in that the owner of my townhouse is quite a reasonable man. In fact he is quite kind and good-natured and does not let things remain broken when they can easily be repaired. That is not to say that he is not worried when I call him and say hey the air conditioner doesn’t work. Of course his immediate thought was that he would have to replace the compressor, or even the whole air conditioning unit. It seems like it is human nature to worry about things like this when we have to get the HVAC fixed or the roof repaired or something like that. Anyway, we did have to wait quite a long time for the AC guy to be able to come out because they are quite busy right before summer, as you can imagine. Anyway, the AC service tech was extraordinarily nice, and he got right to work. He was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He told me he had 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Anyway, it turns out that all I needed was a new circuit board for my AC blower. I didn’t even realize that there wasn’t air coming out of the AC air vents until he asked me. It was then that I realized I wasn’t even sure. Anyway, even though I could not give him a whole lot of Clues, my HVAC technician was able to get my AC up and running within half an hour.
