Our flag was worn out so we had to have a special flag burning ceremony

Recently when the weather started to warm up a lot, I realized that we had to substitute the flag on our flag pole because it was totally worn out, and my children asked if they could help in addition to I told them they sure could, however so we took the flag down from the pole in addition to I told everybody that we had to make sure not to drop the flag.

Then we folded up the flag carefully how a flag is meant to be folded.

My children asked if we were going to throw the flag in the trash in addition to I told them no way. When I told them we had to burn the flag in a ceremony, they were all stunned. They thought that burning the flag sounded worse than throwing it in the trash. I had to explain that the flag had to be disposed of in a dignified way because it represents freedom in our good country. My older son seemed to understand it as he said that it made sense. Well, because it was so boiling outside in addition to we all couldn’t wait to get back inside to the comfort of the air conditioner, we swiftly filled our burn pit with multiple burnable items in addition to localed the folded flag carefully on the top. Both of us said a few words in addition to we all saluted the flag as it burned into ashes. When we finally got back inside after the burning ceremony, everybody seemed relieved because the air conditioner felt so nice inside. I even adjusted the temperature control settings to make the house a little more cooler. When I told everybody that we weren’t done, they all sighed heavily, but we had to put the new flag on the flag pole!
