Cate loves working from home.
Ever since the pandemic hit, she turned one of the bedrooms in her 3-bedroom home into an office space.
The other was for her 6-year-old daughter. They’ve lived in this home for 5 years and love the amazing neighborhood. Cate relocated to this area after her divorce to be closer to her best friend. She had insisted she bought this house and wasn’t taking no for an answer. Cate’s friend had been there for her during a tough time, and now they were closer than ever. The house was in good condition, and Cate was lucky the previous owner had installed a new furnace and an air conditioner. A few weeks before winter last year, Cate was preoccupied with work that she forgot to have an HVAC expert come over to her home. During one cold fall evening, she turned on the furnace to warm the house. At first, the furnace began blowing warm air into the 3 bedroom home. But, later, it started blowing cool air and had Cate puzzled. Upon speaking with her friend about this issue, cate realized she hadn’t phoned the HVAC company for the annual fall tune-up. Having the furnace checked out is important before turning it on when it gets cold. That way, an HVAC expert can replace the dirty air filter and fix any faults in the heating system. Cate hurried to schedule a furnace maintenance appointment and hoped no repairs were needed. She had to layer up and was happy her daughter was away visiting Cate’s mom for the week.
