I’ve loved painting since I was 3 years old and started painting with my parents.
They both worked office jobs, but the weekends were spent painting.
We’d paint in a shed behind the house or go to galleries to see different artwork. I visited art galleries and museums across the country in high school, thanks to my parents. Later, I joined an art school abroad and landed a great job. But, after some time living away from home, I decided to quit my job and return. I was homesick, and my parents were happy to have me back home. After settling in, I felt the urge to paint again, so dad fixed an old shed for me to become my art space. Once the upgrades were done, we had to figure out the right way to cool and heat this space. It was further away from the main house, so adding the space to the central heating and cooling was out of the question. Dad spoke to his friend, an HVAC professional, and he recommended buying a mini-split system. He explained that this was a ductless HVAC system that could work in this smaller space. All dad had to do was install it, and I could use it to cool or heat the art shed at any time. Dad researched mini-split a week later and had one shipped to the house. He’s good with his hands, so it didn’t take my dad long to install the mini-split AC. Soon I was enjoying my new art space, and even mom came to paint with me when she wasn’t at work.
