I wanted a smart thermostat, but my wife didn’t let me.
I tried very hard to convince my wife that we needed a smart thermostat, but she didn’t see the reason. There are many reasons why I would want a smart thermostat. First of all, I love cool technology. I always like having the latest thing. These smart thermostats are supposed to be able to connect to your phone and allow you to adjust your thermostat from literally anywhere. Furthermore, these thermostats can allow you to program your thermostat from your phone. We have a very basic thermostat, so we can’t program our thermostat from anywhere besides the thermostat. We can’t even set a schedule on our thermostat, which is a shame. I have heard that if you set a schedule for your thermostat for the normal hours that you are gone, you could actually save money on your bills. In this way, the thermostat would actually pay for itself. Unfortunately, my wife didn’t want to buy the thermostat. She said that she worked from home anyway, so we wouldn’t actually need to set a schedule for our thermostat. Furthermore, while it may allow us to control the thermostat on our phones, that wasn’t really necessary. Ultimately, she concluded that since we have been fine without a smart thermostat for a long time, we probably don’t need one now. At the very least, I will have to wait until the price goes down to buy a smart thermostat. Obviously, I could just buy one anyway, but I don’t think that this would be a good idea.
