The huge glass window in my mom’s living room really heats her house up like crazy in the summertime.
It’s become a real problem for her when it comes to the cooling bills in her house during the summertime.
We have had a really hot summer around here this year, and that has really been an issue for my mom. She really likes having family gatherings during the summertimes, but no one wants to go over there because it’s so hot in her house. It’s literally like that window starts heating up her whole entire house right before lunch and then it gets hotter and hotter in there until the sun goes down. It’s like a greenhouse effect inside of her great room and it heats up the whole rest of the house too. I know that she’s spending a fortune on air conditioning this summer, but it’s not even helping all that much at all. I told her that she should call up her local heating and cooling company and have them come to see if there is anything that she can do about it. There might be some way that she can block off the duct work in there or something and use a different sort of air conditioning system altogether in the great room. I read something about something called a ductless mini split air conditioning system on an HVAC blog and I think that might be just the thing for her to get. No matter what she does, it has to be better than what she’s dealing with now.
