Last weekend we had to go to the southern part of the country to go to a funeral for one of our family members.
I grew up down in the South, but my husband did not.
He is not used to the heat down there at all. I kind of get used to the high temperatures once I have been there for awhile, but the humidity is no joke. We are really used to the lower temperatures up in the northern part of the country, and so being in the South was a big difference for us. We use the air conditioning a lot even when we are at home. We don’t like the humidity at all, and so the southern part of the country is not the place for us! Even though we stayed in a hotel with a good air conditioning system, my husband seemed like he was going to melt as soon as we walked out the door. I felt kind of bad for him, even though it was funny a little bit. My cousins and I made fun of him because he was so hot the whole time that we were there. The funeral itself was in a little old church that does not even have a central air conditioning system, so that was kind of a problem for my husband. Once they packed all the people in there for the service, it got really hot really fast. At least the lunch after the funeral was in the air conditioned fellowship hall. We were glad to go in there once the service was over!
