I work in the plaza of a marina and I’ve never really been in that type of environment before.
It’s been interesting to really learn how a marina operates and what the work truly entails.
I spoke to a marina employee who said that their air conditioning had recently stopped working and how that was so problematic for them. Anyone not having air conditioning while working probably wouldn’t be happy, but because all of their employees work long hours outside, they really need the air conditioner to provide a cool environment for them. They practically begged an air conditioning company to come out and fix the air conditioner, but no one would agree to come the same day so they had to deal with it for a whole two days. I felt really bad because our cooling technician is awesome and probably would have come to their rescue had I known they were experiencing that issue. They were luckily able to get their air conditioner fixed and everyone was feeling happy again. It was nice to talk to the girl about it because she was really cool and I think I would get along with her well. It can sometimes be hard to find good quality people in the area that I live in, so I took a chance and asked her if she wanted to hang out. We made plans to grab lunch the following week and I have to admit that I am a bit nervous about it. We will have to talk about things that aren’t work-related!
