I’ve been on a good streak lately, but I guess something bad had to happen eventually to remind me of reality.
My air conditioner unexpectedly broke at the beginning of the work week, and it definitely didn’t seem like a small problem.
The air conditioner was making really weird sounds before it stopped working, and after it shut off, I noticed a weird smell coming from it. I had to go to work and couldn’t tend to the air conditioner right away, so I called an air conditioning company on my way there and set up an appointment. They didn’t have any availability until the following afternoon, so I had to spend a day without air conditioning in this ridiculous heat. Luckily I have a few fans at my house, so I was able to space them around to keep me cool for the night. When I met the air conditioning technician the following day, he confirmed that it was not going to be a cheap fix. I ended up spending hundreds of dollars to fix the air conditioner, and it was really just for one part that needed to be replaced. I hate that air conditioning parts are so expensive, but I also understand the wear and tear they undergo over the years of usage. Having to pay for things like that is always such an annoyance when they come around, but I’m glad that I am able to afford those things as they come up. I wasn’t always in that position, so I’m really grateful for what I’ve created.
