Standing in the parking area of the building that houses the air conditioning business enjoying a popsicle, I still could not come to terms with the turn of events. A year ago, I was on the same spot debating whether to get a new air conditioning filter or pay for a/c repair because I could not afford both. I had long neglected a/c care because I couldn’t even afford the basic a/c service. The only reason I was even giving the air conditioner the time of day with my situation back then was that I was living with my sister, who was only seven years old. If I were living alone at the time, I would probably have switched off the air conditioner installation to reduce my energy bill. Anything that had to do with the air conditioning company or did not feel like a basic need took the back banner. It is funny how lack of money shortens your list of basic needs, even things you previously thought you couldn’t live without, seeming like a waste of money. The HVAC system was probably just being held together by divine forces. The service charge for an a/c representative for simple air conditioning maintenance was too much on my almost empty pockets. I did the best I could with regards to the a/c care plan, but the better part had to be done by a qualified air conditioning supplier, but I would have none of that. I was sure that an a/c worker would have a lot to say about the indoor air quality, but there was nothing I could do. The once well-taken care climate control system had lost all its glory.
