Giving the floors a good cleaning

When you live in the desert, dust storms happen frequently. Sometimes the winds can start traveling and we end up with 50 or 60 MPH gusts. On a windy afternoon, sand is everywhere. There is sand on the roads, buildings, streets, and in the houses, it is virtually impossible to keep the home clean when there are sand storms outside everyday. The kids were playing outside Last week and they left the front door open. It looked like there had been a sandstorm inside of our house. The floors were filthy and there was dust everywhere. I made the kids get a broom and a dustpan and clean up all of the dust on the floors, but there were still particles of dust on all of the other interior surfaces. I spent 2 hours dusting all of the surfaces and sweeping up the dirt. I have been thinking about getting an air filtration system for the house, however after that afternoon, I was tempted to call the next day. An air filtration system would clean all of the dust, dirt, sand, allergens, pollen, and pet dander from the house, but the machine is lavish. It costs a lot to have the machinery installed and I honestly don’t have that kind of money. I tried to get the medical provider to pay some of the costs since I have seasonal allergy symptoms, but they would only pay for 69% of a room air cleaner. In a four bedroom home with several stories, a room air cleaner isn’t going to do much good.
