When my best friend bluntly told me I was being an idiot and told me to call the internet marketing company or go on the computer and check out their website, I was upset.
I couldn’t believe he would call me an idiot, but it wasn’t the first time. I went online and looked at the website he had given me. I learned a lot about internet marketing, but I didn’t know enough to try it myself. I called the number that was associated with the HVAC marketing specialist and told him what I wanted to do. I said I needed to grow my business. I had only been open two years, but I only had the customers who signed on when I opened. I said I wanted to get help with my internet marketing. Even though I specifically said I wanted internet marketing, he started talking about a website. He was looking for my website from the time I gave him any information. He asked for the web address and I could almost hear the groan. He asked if I knew anything about internet marketing or web development. After saying that I had my website hosted by a company that charged me twenty dollars a month, he said I was wasting money. He created a website and inserted search engine optimization. He said it was okay to use a host that charged monthly, but you needed a professional to create it. Unless someone had a working web design, there would be nowhere for prospective customers to go. It sounded like he knew what he was talking about and I accepted his help, regardless of the cost.
