My mom was watching the kids for a couple of hours so I could run some errands.
I went to the market to buy bread, milk, and butter.
I went to the bakery to pick out fresh bagels and rolls. I went to the dry cleaner to pick up my husbands suits. He was out of town on business and not due back until Monday. It’s nice to have my mom to help out when he is not home. He does not have to travel frequently, but every other month he goes away for 10 or 14 days at a time. I did not expect to get a phone call from my mom while I was out shopping. I answered the phone and my mom sounded irritated! She told me that the house was getting hotter and she believed that the a/c was not working correctly. I told my mom that I was going to be home in less than an hour and she told me to hurry, and when I got home, I checked the temperature control and the breaker. I checked the air filter and the evaporator coils too, and there was actually nothing I could do to remedy the problem, so I contacted the repair service. I hoped they would be able to give me good, wonderful news, but they were convinced that the A/C equipment could not be repaired this time around. After 11 years, it was time to update the air compressor and evaporator coils. I was not prepared to make such a big decision without my husband. It was going to cost multiple thousands of dollars to make the upgrade and I did not want to agree until I had a chance to discuss it with my partner.
