My mom was seeing the kids for a couple of hours so I could run some errands.
I went to the market to buy bread, milk, and butter.
I went to the bakery to order fresh bagels and rolls. I went to the dry cleaner to pick up my fiance’s suits, and he was out town on business and not due back until Sunday. It’s nice to have my mom to help out when he is not home. He does not have to travel frequently, but every other month he goes away for 10 or 14 days at a time. I did not expect to get a phone call from my mom while I was out shopping. I answered the phone and my mom sounded upset, however she told me that the home was getting hotter and she believed that the cooling system was not working properly. I told my mom that I was going to be home in less than an hour and he told me to hurry, but when I got home, I checked the temperature control and the breaker. I checked the air filter and the evaporator coils too. There was honestly nothing I could do to remedy the problem, so I contacted the maintenance service. I hoped they would be able to provide me some good news, but they were convinced that the A/C unit could not be repaired this time around, however after 11 years, it was time to update the air compressor and evaporator coils. I was not prepared to make such a big decision without my fiance. It was going to cost several thousands of dollars to make the update and I did not want to agree until I had a chance to discuss it with my partner.
