Dad had been calling me the whole day while I was at work. I found several missed calls from him when I returned to the office. I had been out all day on different cooling products as I worked as a cooling workman at the local air conditioning business. One of the jobs that took so much time was at a school where we went in for a routine air conditioning tune-up but ended up ordering a new quality air conditioner. After assessing the old unit, we discovered it was out of service. We then went through the task of ordering a central air conditioning unit. As we waited for the order to be delivered, we removed the old unit, which took us time and energy. It took double the number of cooling techs to remove the old unit and complete the air conditioning install of the new HVAC unit. When I called dad back, he complained that it was almost time for him to replace his unit, and this time, he wanted the indoor air cleaning system I had promised him earlier in the year. The pandemic had scared him, and he frequently changed his air filters. He believed an air purifier would further clean the air or all airborne pollutants. Since he lived in a remote town on the western end of the country, I had to ship the system to him with several air conditioning experts to help with the fitting. Dad was unfamiliar with proper air conditioning service and knew to call professionals in case of any air conditioning repairs. We would do anything for the dad who single-handedly brought us up after mum passed away from cancer when we were young.
