Two nights ago, I had a frightening and funny experience with my HVAC unit.
I live alone in a two-story house. I found an already well-functioning quality air conditioner in the place when I moved in last year. Before moving in, however, I had the air conditioning experts conduct a thorough air conditioning tune-up on the central air conditioning system. The cooling workman gave the cooling product a clean bill of health even though the air conditioning install had occurred seven years ago. Two nights ago, I had just gotten to bed and gradually fell asleep after a busy and hectic day. I had a dream that I was being chased by a monster that was making a loud hissing noise. When I woke up in a sweat, I realized the noise did not stop because it was coming from my unit. I woke up and found a puddle of water near one of the vents. Since I had no idea what was wrong with the unit, I switched it off and noted on my to-do list to call the air conditioning business the next day. I would schedule a comprehensive air conditioning service and hope the technicians would make it to my home the same day. When I returned to bed, I chuckled at the dream and was fascinated by the body’s ability to alert you even when you are in a deep sleep. The cooling techs could do the air conditioning repairs the same day and even installed an indoor air cleaning system to maintain the air quality, provided I changed the air filters frequently. The prompt and efficient service from the technicians was refreshing, as I did not have to worry about having weird dreams because of the malfunctioning unit.
