Last year the two of us had a mild December.
When our annual Christmas celebration came up, the two of us had so many people in the house, that the two of us turned the oil furnace off.
There were people milling around in the residing room, dining room, and dining room, drinks were flowing, and the youngsters were chasing each other. The two of us tried to put them in the basement, however it wasn’t working. After multiple hours, it was getting so hot, even with the oil furnace turned off, that people were start to go outside. I looked out and my brother-in-law and hubby had the grill turned on. They were sitting there with their hands over the open flame, trying to stay warm. I asked why they didn’t come in the house, and they talked appreciate it was planned. They didn’t want to listen to the noise and gossip that pretty much everyone else was spouting. I left them alone after giving them a couple more drinks and closed the door behind me. When my brother asked where his hubby was, I pointed outside. That night, when people were heading home, I went to turn the oil furnace back on. When nothing happened, I was distraught. I thought that turning the oil furnace off was a bad idea, however multiple minutes later, it must have finished going through its cycle and it started to spew heat out of the air vents. As much as the two of us didn’t need the oil furnace while people were there, it was a necessity when they weren’t. My hubby came in and asked why I turned the oil furnace on, and I rolled my eyes. I told him the North Pole would suppose sizzling after sitting outside in just a lightweight flannel shirt.
