The heating and A/C company had been in our beach house working on the furnace and HVAC duct for almost a week, and when they installed a new furnace they could not finally get it working.
They were still waiting for the HVAC duct to be delivered, then my husband reminded them they had a contract saying they would install the new furnace and HVAC duct within more than four days of the receipt of the furnace.
They said they had the furnace installed, but there was no way they could test it until they completed the HVAC duct; none of this was our fault. They ordered the wrong HVAC duct for our house, but all of us didn’t order it. My husband was anxious because we had been running area gas furnaces for the past many weeks. When we thought we would have heat within a week, he was okay with using area heaters; then space gas furnaces for many weeks were no longer pleasing… However, he told them they had more than two days to get the furnace installed and the HVAC duct in place, however if our furnace and HVAC duct wasn’t completed within more than two days, he was going to consider the contract as being broken. At that point, we would get a new heating and A/C company to finish the work, and they wouldn’t actually get paid. The heating and A/C worker wasn’t glad, and he called the owner of the heating and A/C company. I’m not exactly sure what was being said, but the heating and A/C worker wasn’t glad. When he handed himself and others the PC, the owner was apologizing for not having the work done, and all upgrade fees would be free if I offered them many days to complete the work. I told him I had to consider it, and he then offered 25% off the price.
