I met our boyfriend at a group physical training class

Before meeting our current boyfriend at a group physical training class at our local gym, I was single for six years straight.

There were various relationships in our early twenties that soured me on being passionateally involved with anyone.

In various ways this was good because it forced me to labor on myself for a change, and I honestly guess I improved somewhat as a guy because of that time being alone. Going to therapy for six weeks helped as well, as it forced me to analyze the way I perceive our own thoughts and how I regulate our emotions. When I started going to our current gym, I was only interested in losing weight and getting healthier. I wanted to get back to weightlifting again and maybe run on a treadmill or use an elliptical. When the fitness center started offering yoga classes as well, I knew I made the right decision signing up for a gym membership. Then I started taking group physical training classes, starting with cross fit. It was in a group pilates class where I finally met our boyfriend. Both of us both had t-shirts on that morning from the same band and immediately started bonding over music. The conversation lasted until both of us were ready to leave the gym and head home, at which point both of us exchanged phone numbers and then started talking back and forth for weeks. Both of us went on various dates and now we’re official. I have to thank our local gym and their group physical training classes for meeting our current partner. It’s well worth the currency I spend on our gym membership!
