I taught over 6000 online lessons for kids over a four year period and I am so happy that I decided to get out of the racket. It was fun at first and exciting to be getting all of these students wanting me to teach them. But after a couple of years the thrill had worn off in a big way and I was totally burned out of teaching. At one point, I was teaching 13 lessons a day during the lockdown, and making good money, but I grew so tired of doing it every day. The local contractor had a job opening at the start of this year so I applied and got the HVAC specialist job and quit my teaching job the next day. I still stay in contact with a couple of the students sometimes but I am happy that I don’t have to do that job anymore as it was too taxing in the end. I like working on heating and cooling units much more than teaching kids online each day and even whistle sometimes while I am working because I am quite happy. I work a lot less hours now and earn a lot less but I am way happier with the freedom I have in my schedule each day compared to when I was teaching so much. I still love kids but HVAC equipment repairs are a better fit for me.
