When my locale of business reopened after more than 18 weeks of myself and others working from the central air conditioning of home, I was so ready.
Working from beach house was a necessary evil & I understood that for sure.
But I absolutely didn’t enjoy the experience. I was consistently moving from one locale to another with my ipad in order to get my work done. The wifey & kids were also cooped up inside the quality heating & air of beach house at the time. So there were several motivations for myself and others when it came to getting back to that zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C in the office, but my return to that perfect commercial Heating, Ventilation and A/C was short lived. I knew that the company had struggled through the pandemic & I was happy that they were even able to remain solvent. But in order to continue, the company had to make some cuts. Of course, that came with layoffs while I was in 2020 & I felt absolutely blessed that I didn’t get cut. So I was kind of stunned when I came back to the office & within a week, I to was relieved of my position. I got a severance package which helped myself and others while I was able to process what was happening. And then it dawned on myself and others that I could go out & compete against the company as an independent consultant. So I took some of that currency from the severance package & purchased a storage component from the beach house improvement store. Once I had it wired, I had the Heating, Ventilation and A/C company come out & put a ductless heat pump in there so I had good heating & cooling. And these afternoons, I could not be more happier with my beach house office & being my own boss.
