Working in an air conditioning company meant there were days when one could not go without a painkiller.
- There was this day when my team and I were working on a central air conditioner that had extensive ductwork.
It was a new a/c setup in new construction, meaning that everything about a new air conditioning install had to be set up from scratch. Homes are easier to work on than big commercial buildings that require more time and more air conditioning professionals than the former. The fatigue that came with such projects was something else, but I love my job. As an a/c repairman, a/c repair, a/c care, and a/c service are what I deal with most days. Some seasons are busier than others, such as winter and summer, when air conditioners overheat, trying to cool or warm homes. They are the air conditioning business’s most active months. One Friday afternoon, when I was about to call it a day, a call came in from a homeowner who wanted a new air conditioning filter and also to check if the climate control system was communicating well with the digital thermostat. Since I was on my way home, I took the item with me. When I got there, the lady who opened the door led me to the backyard, which was set up and decorated for a party. The lady told me that I was too early and the party would start later. She had mistaken me for someone else, so I clarified why I was there. It looked like it was going to be a fun party and part of me wished she had invited me.
