Heat pump and sunshine beat snow and a gas furnace

It took a long time to get back down here. But I vowed that I would get home to the south and I finally did. Honestly though, I didn’t think that it would take me retiring to make that happen. But that’s where life took me and it has been a fortunate life. I’ve been lucky enough not to be trapped inside the same office with the same commercial HVAC for years on end. My career actually took me all around the world. Heck, I had offices that had nothing like the commercial HVAC we take for granted. Sometimes, the best we could do was a evaporative cooler to manage the heat. That sort of air conditioning is something we call a swamp cooler down here. But finally, for the last three years of my career, I was brought stateside to finish up and groom a replacement. Yet, it was in our corporate offices way up north. I think dealing with a boiler or a gas furnace was tougher than dealing with an evaporative cooler. I hate the cold and always have. But these days, that’s all behind me. I’m now back home and loving the fact that I get to enjoy all this sunshine and I have a heat pump for my quality heating and air needs. Of course this time of year, that’s a moot point as we don’t get much demand for heating from the HVAC unit when the climate is near perfect. That’s just what winter holds for me these days. There’s lots of sunshine, clear blue skies and a heat pump for crispy, cold mornings now and again.
