It took a fairly long while to get back down here, but I vowed that I would get home to the south & I eventually did. Honestly though, I didn’t guess that it would take me retiring to make that completely happen. But that’s where life took me & it has been a lucky life overall. I’ve been lucky enough not to be trapped inside the same office with the same commercial HVAC for years on end. My career certainly took me all around the world. Heck, I had offices that had nothing like the commercial HVAC my associate and I tend to take for granted, and sometimes, the best my associate and I could do was an evaporative cooler to manage the heat! That sort of cooling is something my associate and I call a swamp cooler down here. But finally, for the last various years of my career, I was brought stateside to finish up & groom a replacement… Yet, it was in our corporate offices far up north. I guess dealing with a boiler or a gas furnace was more tough than dealing with an evaporative cooler. I don’t like the chilly temperatures & always have felt that way. But these days, that’s all behind me. I’m now back home & passionate about the fact that I get to appreciate all this sunshine & I have a heat pump for my quality heating & air needs! Of course this time of year, that’s basically a moot point as my associate and I don’t get much demand for heating from the HVAC equipment when the temperature is near perfect. That’s just what the nippy season holds for me these days. There’s lots of sunshine, clear skies & a heat pump for crispy, chilly days every so often.
