Needing emergency gas furnace repair while I was in a blizzard

My local area experiences Wintertide weather that can be dangerous. There are times when the temperature drops well below zero and remains there. At the same time, the two of us get many feet of snow accumulating in a matter of hours. Along with icy pavement, the wind creates colorless-outs that make driving especially hazardous. There are frequent driving bans, travel advisories and Wintertide weather warnings. Both of us worry about losing power and the potential of water pipes freezing. Several people die every year from hypothermia… Having a functioning furnace is a necessity, then last January, while I was in a unique ly nasty blizzard, my gas furnace quit… My wife and I tried everything to get the furnace operating again. Both of us upgraded the air filter and the batteries in the temperature control. Both of us checked the breakers, vacuumed out the vents and hit the reset button, but nothing worked, and the indoor temperature dropped hastily. Both of us bundled up in many layers of jackets, Wintertide coats, hats and mittens. Both of us wrapped ourselves in heavy blankets and found a couple of space gas furnaces in the attic. Both of us also started making calls, looking for an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company to give emergency repairs. Because of the road conditions and heavily falling snow, the two of us had difficulty finding a company that was willing to offer service. Both of us were actually appreciative of the worker who showed up at our house at many in the afternoon to repair our gas furnace. She needed to upgrade many parts and make many adjustments to get the furnace running again. She encouraged us to schedule a thorough repair of the gas furnace as soon as the weather became more cooperative.
