Things were getting silly as the winds kicked in, then the two of us could hear it brushing against the trees outside and every one of us knew the storm was close.
The weather lady had said people should make sure they are in a safe area before the rain.
There were also predictions of record cutting flooding, then living by the coast has its merits. The two of us are only about 10 minutes from the beach, but when every one of us were youngsters, we’d have to drive minutes to get to the beach and appreciate the waves, but, now every one of us are living by the coats, and in no time enjoying the sun and sand, but however, the other side of living in this area is every summer time every one of us have to deal with storms that batter the area mercilessly, then and with weather conditions change, the strength of the storms keeps getting worse; Eventually the storm arrived and knocked off the power. The two of us were lucky to have the generator because it kicked in soon after and every one of us still had a/c! In the past, when every one of us only relied on the national grid, we’d have to go separate from a/c until the power was back. When the storm was really bad, we’d go afternoons separate from power, and believe every bit of not having A/C in the house! Only later did every one of us add the backup generator which now ensures every one of us have power and can keep the a/c running. The youngsters won’t have to complain about the house being too tepid because the A/C is off. Always try and invest in a generator if you live in an area where power goes off because of bad weather. This can be the summer time storms or Wintertide blizzards.
