How long does a roof replacement take?

A couple years ago, my dad had his roof replaced because it was over 25 years old. And as someone who has no idea about roof replacement, I wasn’t sure of how long the process would take. In my head, a roof replacement is a major project that should take at least a week to complete. But to my surprise his roof replacement was completed in less than 3 days. In fact, on the third day, the roofers didn’t complete a full day, so technically it took two and a half days to do a full roof replacement. My dad lives in a 2,100 square foot home which is around the average size of a home in the country and based on what I read online, it should take between 2 to 3 days for a full roof replacement. Of course, depending on the material used, some roof replacements will take more time. For instance, asphalt shingles, which is what my dad has on his roof, have one of the shortest installation times. However, tile, metal, or natural slate, takes much longer to install. In fact, depending on weather as well as the square footage of a home, it could take up to 9 or more days to install a concrete tile roof. And speaking of weather, it plays a big part in the time it takes for a roof replacement. Weather can cause major delays for roofing contractors. Anyway, it’s good to know that replacing a roof doesn’t take as long as I initially thought it would. And if I ever needed to get my roof replaced, I know the process will take 2 to 3 days, of course, weather permitting.
