It seems that elegant furniture is not suitable for every loft

My folks live in a really affluent neighborhood in the southern part of the country.

And most of the houses in that region have a formal dining room that is just for show. Some of my parents’ neighbors have even had interior designers help them decorate these spaces. The dining rooms are normally off limits to youngsters and only used to entertain guests. In fact, some folks don’t use their formal dining rooms at all. I don’t suppose my parents use theirs either, I have never once sat inside that space at all. It’s not comfortable for me, as the charming furniture and the accent pieces resemble something from a high-end fashion magazine. I suppose it’s wonderful that my parents have this charming furniture inside their condo because it does make the room look sophisticated, however something like this would not be right for my house. For one, I have young kids and there is no way I would be able to keep them away from that room. Secondly, I like my condo to feel like my home and when people come over, I cherish them to be as comfortable as possible in every room in my house. An charming room doesn’t scream comfort, it’s a room where you have to be cautious not to scratch or spill something or harm any of the furniture. Of course, this is just my personal opinion and that classic elegance look can labor for many people with an unusual lifestyle. Perhaps one afternoon I too will change my perspective about having such charming furniture inside my home. Possibly when the young kids are grown and have left the condo for good.
