I was overjoyed to join the only other HVAC repairman at the task for the loft visits when I received a task at the neighborhood heating company.
The first customer needed a modern boiler to replace a worn-out boiler that was no longer responding to boiler repair while working on a loft renovation project.
The customer wanted a heater, but the representative from the heating dealership advised them to go above and beyond and install a hybrid boiler because they already had their preferred heating equipment in addition to a heat pump. They also wanted to investigate hydronic heating, but a loft assessment had determined that the house was insufficient for a replacement. Their victory was that they at least obtained a heater or heater replacement that they liked. I was thrilled because it was a significant project for the company and because I would learn how to install the heat and air conditioning system and make it function. My friend and I first had to deal with removing the boiler to make room for the new equipment, which would still be kept in the same attic space. They decided to keep this arrangement because it made HVAC maintenance simple and separate from the rest of the house. We could have completed our work faster if the weather had been more cooperative, but it took us four mornings. The buyers were a charming couple who were loft for the replacement, which means they questioned everything. I responded to some of their questions, but I left the more difficult ones for the more seasoned boiler maintenance specialist. They are interested in it, so I’ve been to that house several times for maintenance. It serves as a reminder of how far I’ve come in my career.
