My kids always go barefoot because they detest socks and indoor shoes, and my friend and I use a boiler as a heater so that the floors always stay warm enough.
I’ve always wanted floor heating for my home.
When she came by for HVAC maintenance, I asked the HVAC technician for a solution, and she suggested that my friend and I try a hydronic boiler for the house and pay attention to radiant heated floors. I only had to go to the heating supplier to see what they had in stock because it seemed like a workable idea. I was interested in the heat and air conditioning product because it sounded like the solution to my problem. At the heating dealership, I explained what I wanted for my home and why, and they asked me to identify the type of floor I had. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit the criteria for radiant heated floors, so my friend and I were unable to move forward with the project as planned. Instead, they advised using a hybrid boiler, which combines a heat pump and an oil boiler. My friend and I were unable to continue with boiler maintenance, and replacing our entire floor was a daunting project to attempt before my friend and I addressed our comfort issues. As my friend and I waited to replace our flooring, installing the hybrid system appeared to be the easiest thing to do. I did more research on radiant heated floors and concluded that we would also require a boiler. We’d have two boilers to worry about until my friend and I were ready to do everything without having to worry about it, so I decided to abandon the idea because I was concerned about boiler maintenance and safety. Instead, my friend and I opted to replace the heater and heater.
