My manager at the HVAC company was getting desperate. Our heating and cooling company has not been doing the best, and it was taking a toll on my manager. I felt really bad, but there didn’t seem to be much that I could do except take on extra hours to help handle the excess heating and cooling appointments. A few months ago, our manager had hired a couple of heating and air conditioning specialists, but both of them only lasted weeks. The first one had no idea what he was doing, I am honestly not sure why he was hired in the first place. The second one only showed up for work in the first week, and then disappeared and wouldn’t answer their phone. It was beyond frustrating, and as a growing heating and cooling business, we needed to hire more qualified heating and air conditioning professionals. My manager made sure to post a few flyers around, looking for a new cooling worker, but it didn’t seem to do much. All of the people that applied were either not qualified, or if they were hired, there would always be a reason to quit shortly thereafter. Another month or so went by, and a good friend of mine moved into our small town. He told me he was lost in life, and was looking for someplace to settle. We talked for a bit, and he told me he was going to need a job, preferably an A/C equipment related job. It was as if fate aligned this, because everything worked out perfectly.
