My husband and I made the choice to move into a tiny house. We love to travel, and we can pull our tiny house just about anywhere we want to go. Many people asked us why we did not just get and RV or fifth wheel, and the reason we didn’t get one of those was because they were actually more expensive than our tiny house was. My husband ended up building our house by himself, and he did a really great job. We modeled our house after one of the tiny houses that we had looked at, and we ended up building it for about a third of the cost that we would have paid if you would have bought it prebuilt. My husband is an excellent carpenter, so he added many little details to make our house unique, and I absolutely love it. The best part about our tiny house is how inexpensive it is to heat and cool it. We use just one little window AC unit during the summer months, and it keeps our entire house cool. I even find myself during off the air conditioner sometimes because it makes the house too cold for my liking. We have a tiny furnace that I believe was supposed to go in a camper, but my husband made it work for our tiny house. It also does a great job. We have not had any trouble with keeping our house warm either. I just love our new life of traveling in our tiny home. We plan to do it for the rest of our lives.
