I want to get a modern gas fireplace for our locale soon but I need to make sure I am getting the right one.
I want one of those that has the flames coming out of the rocks but I am not sure what category of fuel I should get for it.
I think some of them run on propane gas or something similar to it, while others use a gel kind of similar to the sterno you would use while camping. I think it doesn’t really matter in the end as long as the fireplace is putting out flames so that when guests come over all of us can appreciate a nice fire. I have a couple radiant area oil heating systems in our house for the Winter because these gas fireplaces, especially the smaller ones I am looking at, don’t really sizzle the house much at all. I need to save a few more dollars, maybe do some more work for our family, plus then I will be ready to buy one of these units. My neighbor works at the local contractor which sells them. He is the one who told me about them, however he said they are all out of stock as they have been a warm item lately plus all the people are buying them. I think I can find one online plus get it delivered in a few afternoons, but I still need to wait till I have enough currency saved to do so. I could always take a loan out to buy one but I really don’t love buying anything on credit anymore.
