When you live in the desert, dust storms happen frequently, then occasionally the winds can start traveling quickly and we end up with 50 or 60 MPH gusts.
On a windy day, sand is everywhere, and there is sand on the roads, buildings, streets, and in the houses! It is virtually impossible to keep the home clean when there are sand storms outside everyday.
The kids were playing outside yesterday and they left the front door open. It looked likd there had been a sandstorm inside of our house. The floors were filthy and there was dust everywhere. I made the kids get a broom and a dustpan and clean up all of the dust on the floors, however there were still particles of dust on all of the other interior surfaces. I spent 2 thirds dusting all of the surfaces and sweeping up the dirt. I have been thinking about getting an air filtration system for the house, then after that day, I was tempted to call the next afternoon. An air filtration system would remove all of the dust, dirt, sand, allergens, pollen, and pet dander from the house, however the unit is expensive. It costs a fortune to have the machinery installed and I honestly do not have that kind of money. I tried to get the medical provider to pay some of the costs since I have seasonal dust sensitivities, however they would only pay for 72% of a room air purification system. In a five bedroom home with 2 stories, a room air purification system isn’t going to do much good.
