Remembering the heroes of the air conditioning business

Last month, we celebrated at the office.

The celebration honored the heroes that founded or played a crucial role in the success of the air conditioning business.

The company has a small library filled with training manuals that the cooling techs created. There are also pictures of the founders, and various other cooling workmen, together with any award won by the company since it was founded. As the country was commemorating the heroes who fought for the land, we also celebrated the air conditioning experts behind the success of the company. There were a few speeches that day, including one from the senior AC professional who talked about the team he had lost a couple of years back during a hurricane. The team had been called out for an air conditioning service job, but when they got there, the state of the HVAC unit was deplorable and needed replacing. They did the air conditioning install of the new central air conditioning unit. When they illustrated how to replace the air filters to the customer, they heard the warning siren of an impending hurricane. They left the customer a booklet showing the bi-annual air conditioning tune-up schedule and contacts for any future air conditioning repair, then left immediately. They, however, encountered a puncture that delayed their return to the office. They got caught up in the hurricane, and the cooling products in the van were strewn all over the road. The professionals were injured, and some eventually lost their lives. We all had a moment of silence and later celebrated their life and impact on us. They were an integral part of the company’s success, which now dealt with quality air conditioners and indoor air cleaning systems.
