Are you sure the Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech said he would be here by 8 AM?

I looked at the clock in the dining room and looked at my hubby.

For the fifth time in an hour, I asked if he was sure the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company said he would be here by 8 AM? He nodded and said yes, and the answer would not change, regardless of how many times I asked. It was five minutes after eight when I started asking again, and he held up his hand and told me, again, that the answer would not change. Until it reached 8:30 AM, the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company was not really late; They usually offered a more than two-hour window for arrival and he was only five minutes late at that moment. Ten minutes later, my hubby pointed out the window. He said that unless he was mistaken, the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company was there and he would be repairing the oil furnace. I sighed and walked upstairs to get dressed. I supposed I could have gotten dressed an hour earlier, even though I had a heavy robe that was sizzling and cozy. I didn’t want to take it off until it was truly necessary, but my hubby told me to put it on over my clothing until the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company arrived, even though I thought it was a stupid suggestion. I could not wait until the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company repaired the oil furnace and I could get rid of the jacket I put on. I could not imagine wearing that robe over my clothing, and an hour later, I was shedding the heavy jacket because my oil furnace was working and the temperature was back up to seventy. I can’t imagine what it would be appreciate residing up north where you needed a oil furnace five months a year, instead of just a couple of weeks.
