When the HVAC technician arrived last, I was already prepared for him to tell me I needed a new furnace.
I had been having repair after repair made over the last two years, and I didn’t think the furnace could handle anymore.
I knew my purse couldn’t handle anymore repairs. I wasn’t sure my purse could handle the cost of a new furnace either, but if I had to purchase one, I would find the money. It wasn’t even that money was the issue with buying the new furnace. The issue was that I wouldn’t get another furnace like the one I had. This furnace had served me well for the last twenty-five years. I enjoyed the heat it gave me, and I liked how quietly it ran. The only thing I didn’t like was how much money it was costing me in repairs for the last two years. I’m pretty sure that money could have gone for a down-payment on a new furnace, and covered a hefty chunk of the cost. My husband told me we had to bite bullet and put out the money, but i wanted to find the perfect furnace for our home. I wanted energy efficiency, and I wanted one that would be quiet. I’m not sure I really knew what I wanted other than that, but it had to be as trustworthy as our old furnace, and I wasn’t sure that was possible. I’m going to leave the decision on the furnace to my husband. He always has a good head for making costly purchases.
