Rose looked at me oddly, and about that time, the basement door opened and the local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker walked in.
My granddaughters had their ears pierced and also their belly buttons pierced. My oldest granddaughter Rose also got a nose ring and several tattoos, and you would think I was used to seeing folks with piercings and tatts. All of our children got tattoos in multiple places around their bodies. When the young Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker came over to our house, but, I couldn’t take our eye off her stupid looking nose ring. A small chain attached the nose ring to a hoop in her upper lip. She had a tattoo that went from her left ear down to her jawline. A part of me wanted to laugh and shake our heads, but I didn’t want to insult the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker. I showed him where the natural gas furnace was and headed back upstairs. When our oldest granddaughter came over, I had to laugh. I told her I didn’t care how multiple tattoos or piercings she got, I just didn’t want to see a single 1 in her lips. I didn’t think Rose knew the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker until she walked over and offered him a hug. Rose introduced him to make and said this was the young man she had been dating, then before I thought, I asked her if they ever locked their nose rings together? They were both laughing when I asked, and she said that her lip was pinched by her lip ring once. She now takes out the lip ring before they get too intimate. It’s hard to suppose that our Dad was frustrated when I had our ears pierced.
