Working with Ed was so frustrating.

I have been a tech at the local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company for almost ten years, when a young woman came in.

She was fresh out of Heating, Ventilation plus A/C school, and top of her class.

Ed brought her Heating, Ventilation plus A/C certification papers into the office and plopped them on our desk. Ed was cocky and thought she knew everything there was to think about fixing Heating, Ventilation plus A/C systems. I remember our first child being the same way, and needing to knock him down a few steps. I thought working with Ed was the most frustrating teachership I had ever taken on, then not only was our child cocky and thought that she knew everything, despite the fact that she was also challenging me as her father every step of the way. I thought I was going to have to do the same thing with Ed. Working with Ed was genuinely frustrating, however not nearly as bad as when I worked with our first daughter. Ed thought she knew everything about Heating, Ventilation plus A/C, despite the fact that she soon learned she didn’t think near enough. Within several weeks, she went from servicing a natural gas furnace to working on a broken down gas furnace and repairing an air conditioner. Our temps went from 78°, down to 35 within less than a month. Ed said she never realized that she would have to work on both an air conditioner and a natural gas furnace in the same week. I told him that here all of us live; Ed needed to get used to it. Heating, Ventilation plus A/C was never the same thing repeatedly, and Ed also had to learn how to deal with the people, even if they didn’t understand everything you were telling them..
