I used to suffer from insomnia all the time when I was younger.
- I just figured it was something that I would have to struggle with one way or another.
I tried all sorts of supplements to make me sleepier to varying degrees of success. There was always the negative of side effects of the or sleeping really nice but still ending up groggy in the morning because of the drug. As a result, one way or another, caffeine was always needed for me to get going in the morning! However, when I moved out of our parents house, I noticed something. I reflected back on the fact the temperature was indeed a factor in the difficulty of getting to sleep. I would often recognize hot plus sporadically even covered in sweat, although I wasn’t allowed to touch the thermostat. That was legitimate enough, it wasn’t our house, but it really affected our sleep disadvantagely! Now that I have control of our own thermostat plus maintain our own heating plus a/c I have found that setting the thermostat to a much cooler temperature at night is far more conducive for me getting a nice night’s rest. It feels amazing to set the thermostat to a breezy 67° for at least 8 hours in the night. I end up sleeping much better than I ever have, although I’m not really out of the woods when it comes to insomnia. There’s still the other present problem of getting our brain to shut off!
