When my locale of company reopened after more than 18 weeks of myself and others working from the central air conditioning of home, I was so ready.
Working from lake house was a necessary evil and I understood that for sure.
But I entirely didn’t prefer the experience. I was regularly moving from a single locale to another with my kindle in order to get my work done. The wife and kids were also cooped up inside the quality heating and air of lake house at the time. So there were several motivations for myself and others when it came to getting back to that zone controlled Heating, Ventilation, and A/C in the office, my return to that perfect commercial Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was short lived. I knew that the contractor had struggled through the pandemic and I was glad that they were even able to remain solvent. But in order to continue, the contractor had to make some cuts. Of course, that came with layoffs while I was in 2020 and I felt entirely lucky that I did not get cut. So I was kind of stunned when I came back to the office and within a week, I to was relieved of my position. I got a severance package which helped myself and others while I was able to process what was happening. And then it dawned on myself and others that I could go out and compete against the contractor as an independent consultant. So I took some of that currency from the severance package and purchased a storage device from the lake house improvement store. Once I had it wired, I had the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor come out and put a ductless heat pump in there so I had fantastic heating and cooling. And these afternoons, I could not be more happier with my lake house office and being my own boss.
