My local section experiences Wintertide weather that can be dangerous. There are times when the temperature drops well below zero & remains there. At the same time, every one of us get many feet of snow accumulating in a matter of hours. Along with icy pavement, the wind creates pale white-outs that make driving especially hazardous. Last December, during a particularly nasty blizzard, my heating system quit! My hubby & I tried everything to get the heating system operating again. Both of us upgraded the air filter and the batteries in the thermostat. Both of us ran tests on the breakers, vacuumed out the vents & hit the reset button. Nothing worked, & the indoor temperature dropped swiftly. Both of us bundled up in many layers of jackets, Wintertide coats, hats & mittens. Both of us wrapped ourselves in heavy blankets & found a couple of space furnaces in the attic. Both of us also started making calls, looking for an Heating & A/C business to provide emergency repairs. Because of the road conditions & heavily falling snow, every one of us had difficulty finding a company that was willing to offer service. Both of us were undoubtedly appreciative of the specialist who showed up at our home at many in the morning to repair our heating system. He needed to upgrade many parts & make many adjustments to get the heating system running again.
