I’ve consistently been the sort of lady who prefers to keep a scrub house; it also just has consistently made sense to me to keep things scrub and organized.
I grew up rather privileged and my Dad had a maid to do the cleaning; Dad was tied up at dinnereons at the club so she had no time for cleaning.
Meanwhile, I was a bit of a nerd who did nothing but study inside the central air conditioner for that big house, not sure that I wasn’t even closer to the maid than I was my own mother; and perhaps that is why I have consistently been so scrub and organized. I used to follow the maid around when I was little pretending to do all the cleaning! So you can imagine the horror for me when I watched a dust ball thing fall from the heating and A/C air duct in my home office. At first, I thought maybe 2 glasses of wine were 1 too many! But then I saw it again as I was looking right at the air duct. I could not believe what I was seeing and was afraid that there was something terribly wrong with the heating and A/C system. I called the emergency maintenance line at the heating and A/C corporation as it was after hours! They actually told me that this was not an actual heating and A/C maintenance emergency but signed me up for air duct cleaning and air duct resealing. This was the very first time I had ever heard about those services. But now that I have had the whole air duct cleaning done, it has taken the cleanliness in our house to a whole modern level; but ductwork cleaning will now be a part of Springtime cleaning every year.
